January as always brings us the annual Butlins Mineworkers Championship, our piece to master was The Frogs of Arostophanes. We were up against 19 bands in our section, we were drawn third, the played a solid performace and went on stage full of confidence, played it to the best of our ability and came off with smiles on our faces. We came 15th, not quite  the result we were hoping for but the band were able to take a lot of positive points from the remarks from our adjudicators and will channel those into our performance at the North of england Regional Finals in March.

I would like to thank everyone in the band for their commitment over the past few weeks, a huge thank you to John Colvine for organising a fantastic weekend. A Huge Thank You goes out to Dave Jakeman, Steve Archer and Louise Wright from Dunston Silver Band for helping us out at the competition! Thanks again guys!
