A Special General Meeting will be held on Wednesday 22nd May at our Band Room at 7:30pm to discuss our Constitution at the request of the Charities Commission. (Posted on 11th May)
April was another busy month for the band consisting of marching, concerts and another contest! we started the month with the Morpeth gathering on the 6th, we marched through the town centre finishing at the town hall, we then played in the market square and the park. The band was very well recieved and the audience seemed to enjoy them self.
April ended on a high for the band, we traveled north to Dunfermline for our 4th contest in 4 months, this one was different, rather than playing a test we played a 15 minute program consisting of Fanfare and Flourishes, Gresford, Feeling Good (Cornet Solo) and Lord of the Dance. We are delighted to announce that we came 3rd and won Best Solo!!! This is a great result for the band and really boosted moral. I would like to thank everyone for their commitment and hard work of the past few months and its starting to show in the results we're getting, a huge well done to John who won best Solo too!!
The band has earned a well deserved break and will be rehearsing for our forthcoming concerts in May & June which im sure we'll see you at.
We also say farewell to Verty and Maureen who leave our Cornet section to join Murton Colliery Band, thanks form all the band for your service ladys, your welcome back any time!
Next Annual General Meeting will be held on Sunday 28th April 2013 at 7:00pm in our Band Room at Chantry Middle School Morpeth. (posted Saturday 30th March)
Well, as always March brings us the North of England Regional Finals and our Piece was "The Plantagenets". we rehearsed long and hard but unfortunately it wasn't to be, we came 5th, the band walked off stage full of beans feeling we had played our best and we couldn't have done any more. I would like to thank the band for all their hard work and commitment over the past few months, bring on the next contest in April in Dunfermline!! lastly a huge thank you to Trevor Hurbertson and Adrian Sutton for help out our Bass section at the area, we really enjoyed your company at rehearsals, don't be strangers!
See you all next month!
February was an unusually busy month for us, normally we'd spend this time preparing for the North of England Championships but we decided to put on a concert at St Johns in Ashington and take part in the Durham League Competition in Peterlee. the concert went down really well and we did well at the competition coming 5th, now comes the preparation for the North of England Championships, wish us luck.

Happy New Year from every on in the Band!
2012 was busy year for the band and we're looking forward to this year, as always the year starts with the Butlins Annual Mineworkers Competition. Our test piece was "In Memorium", the band put in an amazing performance on the day and well all came off stage feeling we'd all played really well, unfortunately we didn't get the result we wanted which is fine because our confidence as a competing band is getting stronger and stronger and things can only get better.
